Biggest fear

Everything is pretty quiet right now. I clicked on my TV and there is the news talking about 30,000 people getting laid off from Ford and 30,000 more from General Motors. The company I work for right now is about to merge with another company and frankly I am really shaking in my boots. What if and a big what if I get laid off? I have a condo that I still need to pay and where the hell will I get the money if that ever happens to me. I gues that is my fear to loose my job, my home and be broke. Just the thought of it is making me sick. I wonder if they are going to give compensation for working X number of years in a company. I know my family will be there for me but when you are so used to having everything and the next thing you know it you have nothing... bleeh blah(I am currently puking). A second plan is surely needed for events like this.
